After yesterday’s tree sabotage, this morning was all about getting Stella the care she deserved. So, off to SafeLite we went, me giving her a little pep talk along the way because, let’s be real—this whole windshield debacle has been a lot for both of us.
Thankfully, I didn’t have to sit there twiddling my thumbs while Stella was in surgery. My lifesaver, Cindy, swooped in and picked me up, sparing me from hours of waiting room boredom and whatever daytime TV was playing. Bless her.
Now, it’s just a waiting game. I keep telling myself that SafeLite knows what they’re doing, that they replace windshields all day long, and that Stella will be returned to me in pristine, crack-free condition. But you better believe I’ll be inspecting every inch of that glass when I pick her up.
Meanwhile, let’s talk about the real issue at hand: that massive, geriatric tree that decided to launch a full-scale attack on my car. Oh, I haven’t forgotten. I’ve been side-eyeing it from a distance, contemplating my next move. Chainsaw? Maybe. A dramatic, middle-of-the-night disappearance? Tempting. But for now, I’m settling on a stern talking-to and possibly hiring a very aggressive tree trimming service. Consider this your warning, old friend—I’m watching you.
So, for now, I’m enjoying my temporary car-free existence (read: pacing the floor, feeling slightly unmoored without my wheels). But by the end of the day, Stella and I will (hopefully) be reunited, windshield gleaming, and ready to hit the road once more—far, far away from that shady (literally and figuratively) tree.

Bean, in all his damp glory, climbed onto my chest with the precision of a trained assassin. Before I could even protest, he began his signature morning ritual:
1. The Biscuit-Making Ceremony – Because apparently, my bare skin is the best kneading surface in the house. (Not the blanket. Not the pillows. Just me.)
2. The Guilt Trip Purr – A deep, rumbling purr designed to make me question all my life choices, including why I even thought getting up was necessary.
