This morning started off like any other—I pulled into the office, ready to tackle the day. And then… POP. Not the kind of pop that makes you think, “Oh, that was weird,” and move on. No, this was the kind that made my stomach drop.

I looked up, and my windshield had completely spidered out from a massive break. SICK-A-NING. A large branch, apparently on a lifelong mission to take someone out, had finally made its move. Lucky for me (or unlucky, depending on how you look at it), I was the chosen one today.

After a deep breath and a solid internal debate about whether to cry, scream, or just go home and start over, I came inside, filed a claim with my insurance, and scheduled an appointment with SafeLite for tomorrow morning. Because, you know, adulting.

Now, here’s the silver lining:

✔️ No one was injured. That sidewalk sees a lot of foot traffic, and this could have been much worse.

✔️ It wasn’t a client’s car (thank you, universe, for that small mercy).

✔️ Had the branch hit any harder, my windshield would have completely shattered. So… I guess partial destruction is the win I’m taking today.

Moral of the story? Trees are out here playing the long game, and insurance is a necessary evil. Also, if you hear a POP, brace yourself—you might be about to learn something about patience, perspective, and the importance of a good windshield repair service.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have some aggressive coffee drinking to do.
